Durmishi - Türkmenoğlu: Partner support contributes to country's economic and social development

Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi met Wednesday with head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) country office, Fatih Türkmenoğlu, discussing the ministry’s main priorities according to the latest reorganization, cooperation with EBRD and future projects.
Durmishi said the Ministry of Economy and Labor will be focused on improving the business climate in the country i.e. supporting local companies and improving conditions for foreign investments, including the labor market and labor rights, the Ministry said in a press release.
EBRD is one of the country's biggest supporters with investments in various projects and sectors, and contributes to the economic and social development.
The Minister stressed that EBRD's investment activities and support are important for the development of the economy, which improves the country's business climate.
He also expressed belief that the established cooperation with EBRD will continue in the future by planning and realizing priority projects that positively impact the economy and people’s lives.
"As Minister of Economy and Labor, I hope that together with your support we will work on improving the working conditions of local and foreign companies in the country in order to improve the standard of living," Durmishi noted.
Interlocutors agreed that EBRD is an important strategic partner and that investment activities from various partners are of great importance for the current and future development of the state and private sectors, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
