Skopje, 12 December 2024 (MIA) - Cooperation between North Macedonia and Slovenia has no open issues, it is based on traditional friendship, strong strategic partnership and long-standing constructive support in political and economic terms, agreed Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi and Slovenia's Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Luka Mesec, in Skopje on Thursday.
"Regarding bilateral economic cooperation, trade exchange has experienced no major difficulties. The Ministry of Economy and Labor is focused on supporting both domestic and foreign companies, as well as the country's labor market," said Minister Durmishi.
Durmishi and Mesec discussed the enhancement of cooperation in the process of revising the Law on employment and insurance in case of unemployment, in which Slovenia is providing expert support.
"Considering the natural migration across the Balkan region, especially to countries that are part of the EU, there is interest for conclusion of an agreement with Slovenia over mediation in employment between the countries' employment agencies. The objective is to simplify the employment procedure while protecting workers and their rights in temporary employment," said Durmishi.
Interlocutors agreed on continuation of the cooperation in the field of labor law and employment policies, for the purpose of keeping up with contemporary labor market trends, the Ministry of Economy and Labor said in a press release.
