DUI’s presidency meets to discuss party’s positioning after elections

Tetovo, 10 May 2024 (MIA) - The presidency of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) is meeting late on Friday at the party’s headquarters to discuss the party’s positioning after the elections. Coalition partners from the DUI-led “European Front” are also set to discuss the issue at a meeting Saturday.

The head of the coalition’s campaign staff, Arber Ademi, reiterated DUI’s position that the “European Front” had been granted legitimacy by the citizens.

“Based on the assessments of all institutions and the OSCE statements, the elections were fair, free, democratic. We, at DUI, agree with this assessment. This legitimacy, affirmed by the citizens, cannot be disputed, neither by political engineering nor through a political agreement. The will of the people, and the institutions responsible for the holding of the elections, cannot be disputed. The last thing we discussed was tomorrow’s working meeting with all political parties that make up the European Front,” Ademi said.

According to Ademi, all political parties in the “European Front” will continue to act together.

“The most important thing is the fact that the citizens firmly supported this option. We have an obligation, and a task to realize that support of our manifesto into state policy. The citizens expect a continuation of the path to EU integration, and this meeting is being held to ensure the citizens’ European path and to resume the EU negotiations which DUI launched,” Ademi said.

Coalition partners from the “European Front” will meet at 1 pm on Saturday.
