Gostivar, 27 September 2021 (MIA) – With this team of experts in their respective fields, we are opening a new page and it marks the beginning of the third decade of victories, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti told a rally in Gostivar presenting the party’s candidates running for mayors in the October 17 local elections. DUI at the rally promoted its election slogan “Chose Life, Vote Green.” Listing his party’s achievements as part of ruling coalitions, Ahmeti said DUI again has a program that will “benefit all citizens regardless of their ethnic origin.” “We are committed to making the country better than yesterday. To have clean environment, healthier life. On October 17, not only DUI voters, but also all other citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, not only Albanians, but also Macedonians, Turks, Bosniaks, Serbs should vote for an agenda that is bold and protects public health,” he said noting that his party deserved another election win. Ahmeti said there are tasks that need to be completed, including vetting, judicial reforms, fight against corruption and crime, etc. Referring to the country’s foreign policy and current developments, the DUI leader said that the dispute with Bulgaria will be solved like the name issue with Greece had been solved. Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, who is election coordinator in the sixth constituency, also addressed the Gostivar rally. “We will deal with ourselves in these elections, not with the rivals. The citizens will deal with the rival, they know what is right,” he said. There was no address by DUI’s mayoral candidates at the rally, which marked the start of DUI’s election campaign.
