Berlin, 1 August 2023 (dpa/MIA) - Russia's air defence shot down several drones over the capital in the early hours of Tuesday, Moscow's mayor reported.
One drone had damaged the façade of a high-rise building, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on his Telegram channel.
There was no information about casualties.
According to Russian state news agency TASS, a drone hit the high-rise building of the city administration.
Moscow's Vnukovo airport in the south-west of the Russian capital was temporarily closed for departures and arrivals, TASS reported. Flights were being diverted.
Moscow has already been the target of several drone attacks, which came as Russia continues its invasion of neighbouring Ukraine launched in February 2022.
Moscow also repeatedly targets Kiev with drones, missiles and cruise missiles, causing death and massive damage in the Ukrainian capital as in other cities.
