DLUM’s ‘Contemporary Sculpture’ group exhibit to open

Skopje, 23 March 2023 (MIA) — The DLUM Association of Artists of Macedonia’s "Contemporary Sculpture" group exhibition will open at the Art Hub Center gallery and run through April 1. 

 

According to organizers in a press release, on display will be sculptures cast in bronze and in aluminum as well as works done in stainless steel, wire, marble, wood, concrete, and plastic. Some artists have also included textiles, finished objects, and recycled materials.

 

The exhibition will present 22 works by 19 authors. They include Gordana Petrova, Dimitar Filipovski, Nela Jankovska, Stefan Jakimovski, Slobodan Milosheski, Stefan Anchevski, Özbek Ayvaz, Marjana Kostojcinovska Uzuncheva, Zlatko Bojkovski, Angel Dimovski Chaush, Tanja Miljoska, Dusan Gjorgievski, Nenad Tonkin, Sinisha Noveski, Sasho Sazdovski, Maja Taneva and Nikola Smilkov. Also shown will be a work by the potter Boro Novakovski.

 

In addition, the exhibit will showcase a sculpture by prominent Macedonian sculptor Boro Mitrikeski, member of the middle generation of Macedonian sculptors that radically changed plastic work by introducing contemporary art practices.

 

The Mitrikeski family-sponsored Boro Mitrikeski Award will be given to the author of the best sculpture at the opening of the exhibition.

 

DLUM president Jana Maneva Chuposka will open the exhibit, which was made possible with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture. mr/
