Discussions with parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties to continue, says Government after Kovachevski-Taravari meeting

Skopje, 31 January 2023 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met Tuesday with Alliance of Albanians (AA) leader Arben Taravari, whereas discussions with parliamentary and non-parliamentary parties on continuation of the country’s European path and decisions in the interest of citizens and the state will continue, said the Government.

Kovachevski and Taravari discussed a number of topics related to the country’s strategic objectives, such as benefits from North Macedonia’s NATO accession, start of the EU accession talks and the strategic partnership with the United States.

Talks also tackled the fight against corruption in the context of the reforms, as well as the successful screening process, reads the press release.

Interlocutors agreed on the importance of enhancing goodneighborly relations, which has been a trait of Macedonian politics and diplomacy throughout the years, the ultimate goal being internal cohesion and international integration of the country, but also swift progress and development.

Moreover, Kovachevski and Taravari discussed the efficient management of the energy and economic crisis, the laws on public financial control, preventing the abuse of the balancer, protection of vulnerable groups, law on government, and the institutional strengthening of the Regional Development Bureau, as per the press release.
