Dimitrov: Regional cooperation is absolutely a European story
Skopje, 3 November 2021 (MIA) – Regional cooperation has exceptional importance for realization of the joint strategic objectives that the Government is committed to, regardless of the political situation, said Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov upon arriving in Belgrade for a meeting of the Open Balkan initiative. “I come with the message that regional cooperation is absolutely a European story that we want to strengthen further. Tomorrow we add another important segment – how can digitization help us in speeding up and deepening regional cooperation,” said Deputy PM Dimitrov late on Wednesday. He added that the visit to Belgrade came at a time of political challenges for North Macedonia, a political crisis in a way, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release. “It is important that we give the signal that as a Government, as a country, we are fully committed to this initiative born in the Balkans and aiming for a European Balkans,” noted Dimitrov. Deputy PM Dimitrov is set to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as representatives of companies from the three countries that take part in this platform for promotion of regional cooperation in the context of European integration, reads the press release.
