Dimitrievski says country must find way to modify EU negotiating framework

Valandovo, 6 April 2024 (MIA) - ZNAM Movement’s presidential candidate Maksim Dimitrievski addressed the citizens of Valandovo on Saturday as part of his campaign activities, where he underscored the need for the country to find a way to modify the negotiating framework with the European Union.

“An international team should be established which would also include EU representatives and would work on adapting the framework in terms of adapting the French proposal, based on the needs of the society in Macedonia, which would mean moving the process forward, because as things stand, Macedonia is currently not moving. I believe we must find a way and a model that would modify the negotiating framework to move the process of Euro-integrations and negotiations forward and finally launch negotiations with the EU over full-fledged membership,” Dimitrievski said.

In Valandovo, Dimitrievski also said he would strive to create a 13th pension in the form of a subsidy for all pensioners, the funds for which would be secured from funds for capital investments that remain unrealized at the end of the year.

He said one of his first actions would be amending the existing Criminal Code which, he said, has led to the amnesty of numerous politicians. “The law must apply equally to all, and I haven’t deviated from the slogan ‘No justice, no peace’, which is still valid for me,” Dimitrievski said.

As part of his campaign activities on Saturday, Dimitrievski will also meet with the citizens of Dojran, Bogdanci and Gevgelija.
