Dimitrievski presents ZNAM conditions over formation of next government

Skopje, 30 April 2024 (MIA) - ZNAM leader Maksim Dimitrievski presented Tuesday the conditions that the party sets for post-election coalitions over the government formation, while urging citizens to come out and vote at the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dimitrievski called on the SDSM leadership to resign and list principals to give up on their MP seats.

"First, the SDSM leadership to resign from all party structures in the next 24 hours. Second, the list principals and co-principals to sign notary statements they will not accept MP seats so they are taken over by the other candidates on the lists. Third, to confirm they will neither secretly nor publicly continue talks for cooperation with DUI, in order to demonstrate they have truly received the message from the citizens," said Dimitrievski.

He says these conditions are not given to humiliate SDSM but for the leadership to be held responsible.

"Our working groups are prepared to enter into talks with a SDSM interim leadership that will express political will for revision of their policies on the most important national issues, but also on holding all individuals accountable, without the option of amnesty," said Dimitrievski.

He also told the VMRO-DPMNE leadership he agreed with their programme over rejection of the constitutional amendments and no cooperation with DUI.

"I ask you to confirm whether it is true that a section of the VMRO-DPMNE leadership is discussing a public or secret cooperation with former PM Zoran Zaev and his MP candidates on securing a two-thirds majority in the next parliament, which implies that selective justice will also be a trait of the next government, as was the case until now. If this is true, then you can continue to cooperate in public and we will continue to be with the people," said Dimitrievski.

Asked about whether he would call on citizens to vote for one of the presidential candidates, the ZNAM leader said it is every voter's constitutional right to choose who to vote for.

"Back in July 2022, I apologized in public for my mistake of supporting President Pendarovski," said Dimitrievski.
