Dimitrieska-Kochoska takes over as Finance Minister

Skopje, 24 June 2024 (MIA) - Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska took over the post Minister of Finance from outgoing minister Fatmir Besimi on Monday.

"I take over the post while committing to dedicated and honest work during my time in office," Dimitrieska-Kochoska says in a Facebook post.

Besimi briefed Kochoska with the ongoing activities and projects in the Ministry, highlighting its significance in the implementation of reforms that ensure sustainability in finances and economic growth, the Finance Ministry said in a press release.

Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, 41, graduated at the Skopje-based Faculty of Economics and earned her M.A. in financial management at the Economic Institute-Skopje. She was appointed additional deputy finance minister in the 2020 caretaker government. Dimitrieska-Kochoska also worked as a financial consultant, was financial director at Power Plants of Macedonia, and had previous stints at Stopanska Banka-Skopje and the Finance Ministry.
