Skopje, 24 September 2024 (MIA) - Reform implementation is the roadmap to the country's full Euro-Atlantic integration. The EU is a priority for the Government and the Ministry of Finance, and it is our firm commitment to implement the Reform Agenda related to the Growth Plan, Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska told a meeting with the new EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas, wishing him a successful mandate, the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.
"Progress in implementing reforms opens up opportunities for increased investments and funding from the EU budget, including in large infrastructure projects, which would accelerate the process of reducing the country's economic and social disparities in relation to the EU. That is why the focus will be on reforms and the reform agenda for bringing the country closer to the EU and providing better conditions and a higher standard for citizens," said Minister Dimitrieska Kochoska.
Interlocutors discussed activities related to the implementation of the Growth Plan. The Minister briefed participants in the meeting on the country's Reform Agenda, noting that it has been adopted by the Government and submitted to the EC, in expectation of the next steps within the process and the approval of funds by the EU for implementing the agenda at home. The main goal of the Reform Agenda is the strengthened implementation of reforms by accelerating compliance with the values, laws, rules, standards, policies and practices of the public sector of the Union, ensuring its transparent management, developing a competitive and green economy and supporting the accession process in view of future membership in the Union.
