Skopje, 7 July 2023 (MIA) - Dialogue is progressing towards an agreement and I believe the goal can be reached so that we get a long-term solution by which we can ensure a rise of wages, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Friday.
PM Kovachevski the Government and the trade unions have the capacity to produce a solution in the interest of all stakeholders.
"This relates to the public sector and this should also incorporate the rise in productivity and efficiency in operations," Kovachevski told reporters.
He added that all decisions would be taken through dialogue, as was the case before.
"Discussions in the Economic-Social Council resulted in a new methodology for higher pensions, which are set to increase by 25 percent in September. The dialogue with unions also resulted in the new law on minimum wage, which is currently the highest on record", noted Kovachevski.
There is no better proof that the solution is the best one, he added, than the fact that the consumer basket required four-and-a-half minimum wages back in 2015-2016, compared to the 2,1 such wages needed for the current consumer basket.
