Despotovski: Investments to exceed EUR 300 million by year’s end
Skopje, 28 October 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Free Zones Authority has signed agreements in the amount of EUR 160 million as with last month, and it is expected that the total amount of investments will exceed EUR 300 million by the end of the year.
According to Free Zones Authority director Jovan Despotovski, two more agreements are in the final phase, while response is awaited from the Commission for Protection of Competition for seven to eight agreements on which talks have been completed.
“As with last month, the Free Zones Authority signed agreements in the amount of EUR 160 million. We have two more agreements that are in the final phase, which means talks with investors have been completed, as well as seven to eight more agreements on which talks are concluded, but the Commission for Protection of Competition is expected to give its opinion. Overall, we’re talking about a total amount of investments that will exceed EUR 300 million,” Despotovski told reporters at Thursday’s press conference on the Strategic Green Investment Fund, which is part of the Growth Acceleration Plan adopted by the Government at a session on Tuesday.
