Deputy PM Stoiljkovikj meets EU Ambassador Rokas

Skopje, 9 October 2024 (MIA) - Deputy PM and Minister of Community Relations Ivan Stoiljkovikj met Wednesday with European Union Ambassador Michalis Rokas, discussing key issues, priorities and the ministry's future plans, as well as focused cooperation with the EU on smaller ethnic communities in the country.

Cooperation with the EU is very important for the ministry since smaller ethnic communities do not have an alternative address to the EU, and hopefully your assistance will help us rectify things, considering our experience, the Ministry of Community Relations said in a press release.

Interlocutors agreed that protection of the ethnic communities is a priority for the ministry.

Ambassador Rokas said the country can always count on the Union's support and assistance, expressing his support for the reforms and priorities in protecting community rights, noting that all abuses within the ministry must be processed.

Stoiljkovikj and Rokas also discussed economic developments and the fact that cooperation among Balkan countries will contribute to the stability of the region, benefiting all citizens, reads the press release.
