Skopje, 2 October 2023 (MIA) - Our tasks related to Bulgaria are put on paper and incorporated either in the Negotiating Framework or the EU Council conclusions, and what we can expect is predictable, said Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj on Monday, adding he does not expect any further blockades from Bulgaria after the constitutional changes.

Deputy PM Marichikj was quizzed by reporters on the statement of Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani for German daily FAZ of his certainty that Bulgaria would continually formulate new demands.

"What we know is that the second Intergovernmental Conference will be scheduled upon completion of the constitutional changes, on which we have been reassured by the Spanish EU Presidency and the following presidencies. Any member-state can open an issue on numerous occasions in the course of the negotiations, but I believe that after the completion of the constitutional changes, no one, especially Bulgaria, will have the credibility to put any more blocks because enough is enough," said Marichikj.

On the constitutional changes, the Deputy PM said the procedure has been launched and the vote would take place at the moment "when we are certain there is a good chance for 80 votes".

"As the PM said on several occasions, we are talking to all lawmakers, we are ready and believe there is still time to make the right decisions. Time is shorter with each passing day but there is enough time to complete all tasks by the end of the year. We are working on all processes in parallel - the roadmaps, the action plan and the constitutional amendments," noted Marichikj.
