Deputy PM Mexhiti meets new French Ambassador Le Rigoleur   

Skopje, 18 September 2024 (MIA) - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti met Wednesday with the new French Ambassador Christophe Le Rigoleur.

According to Mexhiti’s Office, at the meeting Mexhiti and Le Rigoleur concluded that the relations between the two countries are excellent, with opportunity for further enhancement both on a bilateral level and through the cooperation with the European Union.

The topic discussed at the meeting was integration into the European Union, making use of IPA funds and the implementation of the Sectoral Operational Programme for Environment and Climate Action within the frameworks of the IPA II Programme, by the end of 2026. 

“First Deputy Prime Minister Izet Mexhiti said the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning aims to establish a system for solid waste management and improve the infrastructure for the treatment of wastewater, noting that French companies are welcome to participate in the process which is especially important for our country,” Mexhiti’s Office said in a press release.

At the meeting, the Deputy PM and the Ambassador highlighted the fact that projects on a central and local level in various municipalities are being realized in cooperation with the French Development Agency.
