Deputy PM Bytyqi meets French Special Envoy Troccaz

Skopje, 16 November 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi met Thursday with France's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz, discussing the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans that is set to create real opportunities for further growth of regional economies, leading to the creation of competitive capacities for incorporation into the European market ahead of the full-fledged EU membership.

Depty PM Bytyqi and Special Envoy Troccaz also discussed the significance of regional cooperation among countries of the Western Balkans for the purpose of strengthening the national capacities in the Euro-integration processes, the Government said in a press release.

Interlocutors agreed that regional initiatives can make the essential changes on the path to full-fledged EU membership.

Bytyqi briefed Troccaz on the Government's economic priorities - infrastructure, accelerated energy transition to renewables, and other aspects leading to enhanced bilateral cooperation. In this regard, they referred to the realization of the strategic investment of French company "Akuo Energy" in a solar park that is set to produce up to 400 MW.

Special Envoy Troccaz said France continues to be North Macedonia's strong supporter on its EU accession path, expecting the country to soon join the Union family, reads the press release.
