Skopje, 27 February 2024 (MIA) - Health Minister Ilir Demiri held on Tuesday his first official meeting with French Ambassador Cyril Baumgartner, discussing current challenges, the reforms, as well as activities planned to be undertaken in the coming period in public health.

Minister Demiri briefed Ambassador Baumgartner on the health policies implemented in the health sector, and the two also discussed the country's EU perspective, the Ministry of Health said in a press release. 

Interlocutors highlighted traditionally good cooperation between North Macedonia and France, given the large number of doctors and professors educated in France.

"Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experience between the two countries, aimed at strengthening the health sector, as well as increasing the presence of France not only in Macedonia, but also in all Western Balkan countries," reads the press release.
