Skopje, 14 August 2024 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski held a meeting Wednesday with the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, Nicole Varnes, during which they discussed the close strategic cooperation in defense between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the cooperation with the Vermont National Guard, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release. 

According to the Ministry, Misajlovski and Varnes also discussed the development of the Krivolak military training center, with the goal of transforming it into one of the best military training centers in Europe, and for the coming exercises that it will host in 2025, including Immediate Response as part of the Defender Europe exercise. 

At the meeting, Misajlovski also welcomed Varnes to the country and wished her success during her term. The Minister voiced gratitude for the financial assistance provided by the U.S. for the modernization of the Army, which exceeds US$300 million, the Ministry said.
