Defense Minister Petrovska meets new Kosovo Ambassador Qehaja
Skopje, 26 August 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska met Friday with the newly appointed Ambassador of Kosovo, Florijan Qehaja. The focus of the meeting was the development of bilateral defense cooperation, as well as regional stability and security.
“North Macedonia is strongly committed to regional peace and security – a fact evidenced by the Army members’ participation in the KFOR mission, as well as the EU’s EUFOR ALTHEA mission in Bosnia,” said Petrovska.
At the meeting, the Minister touched upon the Bilateral Support Plan, which encompasses 18 activities and cooperation in the field of military education through the education of a Kosovo cadet at the Military Academy, as well as expert discussions in various areas and joint exercises and training.
Ambassador Qehaja expressed his gratitude for the meeting and stated that Kosovo is committed to defense cooperation with North Macedonia.
Both countries, according to the Ministry, renewed the Memorandum on Cooperation in April 2022, while in 2021 they signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of public relations and dealing with fake news and disinformation. ad/ba/
