Defense Minister Misajlovski meets Bulgarian Ambassador Angelov

Skopje, 26 July 2024 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski met Friday with Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov, and Defense Attaché, Colonel Asen Lambev, discussing defense cooperation between the two countries, which they consider to be "an example of how two neighboring, friendly, and allied countries should cooperate."

The Letter of Intent recently signed between the defense ministers at the recent NATO Summit will not only facilitate military mobility on Corridor VIII but also further strengthen defense cooperation, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

It adds that bilateral, regional, and cooperation within NATO, especially for the protection of the eastern wing, is "an obvious indicator of the cooperation between the two allied countries," and that the Macedonian Army members are part of the eVA "Activities for Increased Awareness" mission in Bulgaria, and take part in the South-Eastern Europe Brigade.

Additionally, defense cooperation is present in the education and trainings of military personnel at the Military Academy in Bulgaria, but also cadet participation in the Summer Camp organized by the 'General Mihailo Apostoloski' Military Academy. Joint participation in trainings and exercises, both on a bilateral and regional basis, contributes to the development of cooperation between the two countries, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
