Skopje, 20 December 2024 (MIA) - The Macedonian Army will continue its contribution to NATO’s mission in Kosovo, KFOR, since it strengthens the security and stability of the region, said Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski at a meeting Friday with the Commander of KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani.
Misajlovski, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, voiced satisfaction over the excellent cooperation of all participating Macedonian contingents with the command and the members of the armed forces of the countries participating in the mission.
“Together we are contributing to the security in Kosovo, but we also learn from each other on a daily basis, we develop our interoperability and demonstrate that the NATO allies want to see the Balkans remain peaceful, stable and secure,” added the Minister.
Major General Barduani expressed gratitude for the country’s contribution to the KFOR mission, which, he said, contributes to the peace and stability in the region.
NATO’s KFOR mission in Kosovo was established in 1999. Seventy members of the Macedonian Army are a part of the force that brings together 29 nations. The country also provides constant logistics support for the mission, said the Defense Ministry.
