Defence Ministry: Army modernization proceeding as planned, preparations on track for delivery of Stryker vehicles

Skopje, 8 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski attended on Friday at the 'Strasho Pindjur' army barracks in Petrovec a briefing on the process of putting the light-armored Stryker vehicles into operational use within the Army.
Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, U.S. Ambassador Angela Aggeler and head of the Customs Administration Boban Nikolovski also attended the event, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.
"The procurement of the armored vehicles is part of the modernization process of the Army and according to plans, the first vehicles of this type should arrive in our country next year," said the Ministry of defence.
The briefing is a follow-up to a week-long joint workshop by members of the Army with the Security Management Institute, the Vermont National Guard and the U.S. 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade.
