Defence Ministry and Army's Gender Self-Assessment and Gender Action Plan 2024 – 2028 to be promoted

Skopje, 20 May 2025 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova and Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski on Tuesday in Skopje will address an event promoting the Gender Self-Assessment and Gender Action Plan 2024 – 2028 of the Defence Ministry and the Army.

The event will also see addresses by Swedish Ambassador Ami Larsson Jain and Béatrice Godefroy, DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance Deputy Director, the Defence Ministry said in a press release.

Key findings from the gender self-assessment process, which assesses gender sensitivity in the defence sector and the Army, will be presented at the event, co-organized by the Defence Ministry and Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance. The action plan, considered a strategic framework to improve gender equality, will be also presented.

The action plan offers concrete measures and activities aimed at improving gender equality at the Defence Ministry and the Army in the period from 2024 until 2028 in terms of strengthening of gender structure, decision making, professional development, training, equipment, infrastructure and organizational culture.
