Skopje, 13 March 2023 (MIA) - The sooner the legal amendments are adopted, the sooner the patients will have access to simpler and faster delivery of medications, said Ana Daneva Markova, the PM's healthcare advisor, in response to a reporter's question on her expectations as to the adoption of the legal amendments to allow cystic fibrosis patients access to the Trikafta medication.

 

 

"You heard it from the PM himself last week at a press conference that he suggested legal amendments in cooperation with a number of experts, which are in parliamentary procedure this week. I hope the intention is for them to be adopted as soon as possible because they will amend two laws: the Law on Medications and the Law on Health Insurance," said Daneva Markova, who is also part of the team that worked on the legal amendments. 

 

 

She stressed that the legal amendments don't only cystic fibrosis patients, but all groups of patients regarding which treatment is procured in this way. dk/nn/
