Skopje, 27 April 2023 (MIA) – Customs officials prevented a trafficking attempt of 30 kg of shisha tobacco at the Tabanovce border crossing on Tuesday, said the Ministry of Interior in a press release Thursday.

“A vehicle with Macedonian registration cards, driven by a Macedonian national, was chosen for a detailed inspection due to founded suspicions, after which 120 containers of 250g of shisha tobacco were found, which the individual failed to report,” said the MoI.

The Interior Ministry said that with this, an attempt to release excise goods into free circulation with estimated tax evasion of Mden 65.000 was prevented.

“The goods have been temporarily seized, and the appropriate charges have been filed against the individual,” said the Ministry.
