Customs officers foil opioid trafficking attempt

Skopje, 19 February 2024 (MIA) — Customs agents have seized 3,590 tramadol tablets found in the personal luggage of a passenger during a routine check of a bus leaving the country at the Tabanovce border crossing with Serbia.
According to the Customs Administration in a press release, the bus was traveling to Denmark route.
When passengers were asked to take their personal luggage out of the bus, one passenger threw a bag over the customs terminal's wire fence, the release says.
A customs officer noticed this, the bag was retrieved and immediately searched.
Hidden in shirt sleeves, pant legs and socks were 359 strips of ten Doreta 75 mg tramadol hydrochloride pills each.
Charges have been filed against the passenger, a Macedonian national, the release adds. mr/
