Customs Administration head signs Memorandum on electronic data exchange with Bulgaria’s Customs Agency
- At an event Wednesday in Brussels attended by the European Union’s Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, the head of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolovski, and the head of the National Customs Agency of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Dimov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding enabling the electronic exchange of data between the two bodies.
Skopje, 17 December 2025 (MIA) - At an event Wednesday in Brussels attended by the European Union’s Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, the head of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolovski, and the head of the National Customs Agency of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Dimov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding enabling the electronic exchange of data between the two bodies.
According to the Customs Administration, the aim is to accelerate legal trade and prevent attempts at customs fraud, thereby directly contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy on the EU market.

Nikolovski said with the signing of the Memorandum, the Customs Administration is clearly demonstrating its commitment to the acceleration of the country’s EU accession.
“With this we are tracing the path forward, with our intention being an accelerated integration into the EU single market and improvement of the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy. We have great support from the EU, as demonstrated by today’s event,” Nikolovski said in Brussels.

The signing was attended by the heads of the customs bodies of the Western Balkan countries and the EU, as well as the heads of CEFTA and the Transport Community.
