Skopje, 10 November 2023 (MIA) – Culture is a bridge of friendship between the two countries, and that is the direction in which cooperation should continue in the coming period, assessed Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska and her Bulgarian counterpart Krastyu Krastev at a meeting Friday, on the sidelines of the 42nd UNESCO General Conference held in Paris.

At the meeting, said the Ministry of Culture in a press release, the two ministers spoke about the traditional positive and continued cooperation between the two countries, characterized by the exchange of numerous projects and activities.

According to the press release, Kostadinovska-Stojchevska and Krastev noted that the bilateral ministerial meetings are proof of the quality of the cooperation between the institutions and the realization of large events with regional significance, such as the exhibition of findings from the Trebenishte archeological site which had an excellent reception in the Bulgarian public, as well as the upcoming “Silver Thrace” exhibition that will be opened at the National Archeological Museum in Skopje next week.

“The good communication between the Cultural and Information Centers in Sofia and Skopje was discussed, as well as the ideas for a more intensive promotion of Macedonian and Bulgarian culture, considering that this year marks 20 years since the establishment of the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia,” said the press release.
