Croatia confirms first two omicron cases
Zagreb, 6 December 2021 (Hina/MIA) — The head of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ), Krunoslav Capak, said on Monday that two people in the country had been found to be infected with the new covid variant, omicron. The two patients had not developed severe symptoms and all their contacts were under surveillance, Capak told a news conference. The patients, who had not traveled out of the country, had been at a business meeting together, and there are possibilities that other participants could have caught it, as well, said epidemiologist Bernard Kaić. Kaić also said the patients' symptoms were "high fever and feeling like they had been run over by a train." According to Capak, Croatia has taken all the necessary measures to slow down the spread of the new variant.
