Crisis HQ adopts commission proposal on ending mask mandate in primary schools
Skopje, 25 March 2022 (MIA) – The COVID-19 Crisis HQ decided Friday to accept the recommendation of the Commission for Infectious Diseases and propose to the Government that primary school pupils attend instruction without masks, unless they want to. The mask mandate for teachers and other school staff remains in place. The Crisis HQ will also recommend to the Government to decide on the in-person instruction at universities, while urging students and teaching staff to get vaccinated. In addition, the Crisis HQ has decided to propose a change of the Government’s decision on increasing the maximum indoor capacity from 50 to 75 percent, with visitors wearing masks and observing other COVID-19 protocols. Moreover, the Crisis HQ accepted the Commission’s conclusion over cancellation of the protocol section related to bars and restaurants that requires guests to show a vaccination certificate in the open areas of the facilities, whereas the obligation for a vaccination certificate and a proof of recovery for the indoor areas remains in place.
