Skopje, 15 February 2022 (MIA) – Discussions on alternative measures could take place once the epidemiological situation is relaxed and the numbers drop, but we cannot speak of cancelling COVID-19 recovery certificates for the time being, Commission for Infectious Diseases spokesperson Zlate Mehmedovikj said on Tuesday. Mehmedovikj said the certificates are not aimed at preventing transmission but transfer of the virus to those who have no immunity. “The recovery certificate is valid for 180 days while vaccines’ validity is unlimited. Those who cannot prove they had recovered or got vaccinated will be protected from entering facilities that represent a high infection risk. This is the intention of the certificates,” Mehmedovikj told reporters.
