COVID-19: 905 new cases, 1,565 recoveries, 18 die
Skopje, 18 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 905 new COVID-19 infections after 2,808 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 18 deaths and 1,565 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
Of the new cases, 468 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 57, Kavadarci – 43, Veles – 41, Kumanovo – 38, Tetovo – 32, Prilep – 31, Ohrid – 22, Strumica – 21, Radovish – 16, Gevgelija – 15, Negotino – 15, Shtip – 14, Kichevo – 13, Resen – 12, Sveti Nikole – 11, Struga – 10, Gostivar – 9, Debar – 7, Kochani – 6, Valandovo – 5, Kriva Palanka – 4, Berovo – 4, Vinica – 4, Bogdanci – 2, Demir Hisar – 2, Kratovo – 1, Krushevo – 1, and Makedonski Brod – 1.
In addition, 161 of the total number of new cases (905) are reinfections.
Ten deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including three in Skopje (aged 70, 77 and 97), three in Prilep (61, 72 and 77), one in Veles (75), one in Ohrid (88), one in Kavadarci (58), and one in Krushevo (63).
According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, eight people died in period Feb.7-15.
At the moment, 8,143 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,862,041 tests, recording 291,820 COVID-19 cases and 274,808 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,869.
