COVID-19: 674 new cases, 978 recoveries, 12 die
Skopje, 23 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 674 new COVID-19 infections after 3,156 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 12 deaths and 978 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday. Of the new cases, 352 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 44, Veles – 33, Prilep – 31, Kavadarci – 27, Kumanovo – 22, Gevgelija – 21, Kichevo – 17, Strumica – 16, Tetovo – 12, Gostivar – 12, Ohrid – 11, Negotino – 10, Resen – 9, Radovish – 8, Shtip – 6, Kochani – 5, Struga – 5, Sveti Nikole – 5, Valandovo – 5, Krushevo – 5, Makedonski Brod – 3, Demir Kapija – 3, Kriva Palanka – 2, Delchevo – 2, Berovo – 2, Debar – 2, Bogdanci – 2, Kratovo – 1, and Demir Hisar – 1. In addition, 98 of the total number of new cases (674) are reinfections. Twelve deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including five in Skopje (aged 55, 66, 74, 74 and 78), two in Tetovo (69 and 78), one in Prilep (88), one in Ohrid (88), one in Struga (75), one in Bitola (85), and one in Kochani (74). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, nine people died in period Jan.31-Feb.20. At the moment, 5,449 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,878,073 tests, recording 295,082 COVID-19 cases and 280,675 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,958.
