COVID-19: 639 new cases, 22 patients recover, 6 die
Skopje, 12 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia recorded 639 new cases out of 5,390 COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours. Of these, 218 new cases were registered in Skopje, followed by Tetovo – 113, Gostivar – 99, Strumica – 37, Kumanovo – 34, Kichevo – 32, Bitola – 17, Struga – 16, Debar – 9, Veles – 8, Ohrid – 8, Prilep – 6, Kavadarci – 6, Berovo – 6, Shtip – 5, Resen – 5, Makedonski Brod – 5, Valandovo – 4, Kochani – 3, Radovish – 2, Delchevo – 2, Negotino – 1, Kriva Palanka – 1, Vinica – 1, Demir Kapija – 1. Twenty-two coronavirus patients recovered, and six patients – two from Skopje (75 and 76), two from Tetovo (53 and 77), one from Gostivar (58) and one from Bitola (79) – died in the same period, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has registered 159,908 confirmed coronavirus cases and 150,635 people have recovered. The death toll has reached 5,527. At the moment, there are 3,746 active cases nationwide, including 1,257 in the capital Skopje. A total of 1,039,272 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country so far.
