COVID-19: 554 new infections and 17 deaths
Skopje, 21 September 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered Tuesday 554 new COVID-19 infections after 4,072 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours. Citing Public Health Institution’s report, the Health Ministry said there were 17 fatalities in the same time period and 891 people who have recovered from the virus. Of the new cases, Skopje reported 309, said the press release. Seventeen people died in the past 24 hours including ten patients in Skopje with five of them being in their 40s and 30s. Prilep reported two deaths while Kumanovo, Strumica, Kichevo, Kochani and Demir Hisar reported one fatality each. So far, North Macedonia has conducted a total of 1,258,133 COVID-19 tests with 187,622 of them coming back positive. Death toll reached 6,489 and a total of 168,700 people recovered since the onset of the pandemic. At the moment, there are 12,433 active cases nationwide, including 5,701 in Skopje.
