COVID-19: 539 new cases, 245 patients recover, 41 die
Skopje, 18 September 2021 (MIA) – Over the past 24 hours, North Macedonia registered 539 new COVID-19 cases from 5,589 tests done in the country, 245 patients recovered and 41 people died from coronavirus-related complications, health authorities said on Saturday.
New cases were recorded in Skopje –274, Kumanovo – 52, Kavadarci – 25, Veles – 17, Prilep – 15, Bitola – 14, Shtip – 14, Kochani – 13, Tetovo – 12, Ohrid – 11, Gostivar – 8, Strumica – 7, Kichevo – 7, Radovish – 7, Struga – 6, Resen – 6, Kriva Palanka – 6, Probishtip – 6, Valandovo – 6, Negotino – 5, Gevgelija – 4, Demir Hisar – 4, Delchevo – 3, Vinica – 3, Kratovo – 3, Sveti Nikole – 2, Debar – 2, Bogdanci – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2, Berovo – 1, Pehchevo – 1, and Makedonska Kamenica – 1.
Of the 41 people who died from coronavirus-related complications, 23 died in Skopje (aged84, 82, 81, 79, 78, 77, 75, 73, 71, 68, 68, 66, 64, 62, 62, 62, 60, 56, 52, 47, 31, 23 and 18), four in Tetovo (aged 82, 81, 76 and 69), three in Kumanovo (aged 71, 69 and 66), three in Kichevo (aged 84, 81 and 63), one in Prilep (aged 66), one in Gostivar (aged 83), one in Bitola (aged 72), one in Strumica (aged 75), one in Ohrid (aged 78), one in Struga (aged 45), one in Kavadarci (aged 79), and one in Debar (aged 54).
At the moment, 13,261 cases are active nationwide, of which 5,869 in Skopje.
Since the onset of the epidemic, a total of 1,248,079 tests have been made, recording 186,549 COVID-19 cases and 166,851 recoveries. The death toll has reached 6,437.
