COVID-19: 409 new cases, 289 patients recover, 9 die
Skopje, 28 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 409 new COVID-19 infections after 4,751 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, nine deaths and 289 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 218 were registered in Skopje, followed by Prilep – 37, Bitola – 32, Kavadarci – 19, Veles – 18, Makedonski Brod – 9, Kichevo – 8, Gevgelija – 8, Kumanovo – 7, Bogdanci – 7, Kochani – 6, Struga – 6, Resen – 6, Ohrid – 5, Tetovo – 4, Shtip – 4, Strumica – 3, Kriva Palanka – 3, Gostivar – 2, Delchevo – 2, Valandovo – 2, Negotino – 1, Radovish – 1, Vinica – 1. Nine deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including six in Skopje (aged 62, 65, 73, 74, 88 and 90), one in Bitola (52), one in Kavadarci (39) and one in Prilep (63). One more death was recorded from the My Appointment e-service, dated December 20. At the moment, 4,801 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,581,175 tests, recording 223,739 COVID-19 cases and 211,021 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,917.
