COVID-19: 320 new cases, 214 patients recover, 8 die
Skopje, 22 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 320 new COVID-19 infections after 3,366 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, eight deaths and 214 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 165 were registered in Skopje, followed by Prilep – 26, Ohrid – 18, Kavadarci – 16, Bitola – 11, Veles – 10, Kumanovo – 8, Strumica – 7, Tetovo – 6, Resen – 6, Gevgelija – 5, Radovish – 5, Valandovo – 5, Kichevo – 4, Kochani – 4, Shtip – 3, Berovo – 3, Gostivar – 2, Negotino – 2, Kriva Palanka – 2, Delchevo – 2, Bogdanci – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2, Makedonska Kamenica – 2, Sveti Nikole – 1, Vinica – 1, Probishtip – 1, Demir Hisar – 1.
Eight deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including three in Skopje (aged 56, 64 and 80), two in Kavadarci (29 and 59), one in Veles (77), one in Ohrid (72) and one in Resen (72).
Seven more deaths were recorded from the My Appointment e-service, dated December 14-19.
At the moment, 5,273 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,558,639 tests, recording 222,064 COVID-19 cases and 208,938 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,853.
