COVID-19: 298 new cases, 335 patients recover, 6 die
Skopje, 16 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 298 new COVID-19 infections after 2,831 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, six deaths and 335 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday. Of the new cases, 145 were registered in Skopje, followed by Kavadarci – 23, Prilep – 17, Bitola – 14, Kichevo – 13, Shtip – 9, Ohrid – 9, Strumica – 9,  Kumanovo – 8 and Resen – 8, Tetovo – 6, Gevgeliija – 5, Veles – 4, Kochani – 4, Radovish – 4, Kriva Palanka – 3, Vinica – 3, Valandovo – 3, Delchevo – 2, Makedonska Kamenica – 2, Gostivar – 1, Negotino – 1, Sveti Nikole – 1, Probishtip – 1, Kratovo – 1, Demir Hisar – 1 and Makedonski Brod – 1. Six deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, one each in Prilep (aged 60), Veles (68), Skopje (69), Kratovo (55), Demir Hisar (57) and Ohrid (55). Four more deaths were recorded from the My Appointment e-service, dated December 9-12. At the moment, 5,451 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,512,496 tests, recording 220,467 COVID-19 cases and 207,238 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,778.
