COVID-19: 269 new cases, 353 patients recover, 7 die
Skopje, 23 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 269 new COVID-19 infections after 3,449 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, seven deaths and 353 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday. Of the new cases, 142 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 17, Ohrid – 16, Kavadarci – 14, Strumica – 14, Prilep – 13, Veles – 9, Shtip – 7, Resen – 7, Valandovo – 5, Tetovo – 4, Kriva Palanka – 4, Gevgelija – 3, Negotino – 3, Kumanovo – 2, Radovish – 2, Bogdanci – 2, Demir Hisar – 2, Sveti Nikole – 1, Berovo – 1, Krushevo – 1. Seven deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including two in Skopje (aged 73 and 84), one in Veles (71), one in Sveti Nikole (71), one in Kavadarci (69), one in Berovo (68) and one in Radovish (73). Eight more deaths were recorded from the My Appointment e-service, dated November 29-December 19. At the moment, 5,174 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,562,088 tests, recording 222,333 COVID-19 cases and 209,291 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,868.
