COVID-19: 242 new cases, 247 patients recover, 6 die
Skopje, 3 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 242 new COVID-19 infections after 3,561 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 6 deaths and 247 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.
Of the new cases, 173 were registered in Skopje, followed by Prilep – 12, Bitola – 10, Kavadarci – 9, Kumanovo – 6, Gevgelija – 5, Veles – 4, Tetovo – 3, Gostivar – 3, Ohrid – 3, Strumica – 3, Struga – 3, Kochani – 2, Delchevo – 2, Kichevo – 1, Kriva Palanka – 1, Debar – 1, and Valandovo – 1.
Six deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including two in Skopje (aged 71 and 87), one in Kavadarci (84), one in Ohrid (72), one in Struga (74), and one in Resen (80). All of them died in hospital.
At the moment, 4,817 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,611,793 tests, recording 225,972 COVID-19 cases and 213,174 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,981.
