COVID-19: 222 new cases, 268 recoveries, two die
Skopje, 31 August 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia recorded 222 new COVID-19 cases after 954 tests were performed in the past 24 hours, two deaths were reported, while 268 patients recovered, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 113 were registered in Skopje, followed by Kumanovo – 14, Kavadarci – 14, Bitola – 13, Prilep – 12, Veles – 7, Ohrid – 6, Shtip – 6, Strumica – 4, Kochani – 4, Kratovo – 4, Kichevo – 3, Kriva Palanka – 3, Delchevo – 3, Tetovo – 2, Gostivar – 2, Gevgelija – 2, Negotino – 2, Resen – 2, Sveti Nikole – 2, Struga – 1, Debar – 1, Probishtip – 1, and Makedonski Brod – 1.
Two persons died, from Skopje and Kichevo (aged 79 and 83). According to the e-registry of COVID-19 fatalities, six people died between August 11-28.
At the moment, 1,660 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,151,148 tests, recording 340,341 COVID-19 cases and 329,192 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,489.
