COVID-19: 159 new cases, 225 recoveries, one fatality in past three days
Skopje, 9 May 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 159 new COVID-19 infections after 2,777 tests were conducted in the past three days (May 6-9), 225 people recovered and three died, the Health Ministry said on Monday. Of the new cases, 79 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 29, Prilep – 9, Ohrid – 8, Kumanovo – 5, Kavadarci – 5, Veles – 5, Kichevo – 4, Tetovo – 3, Resen – 3, Shtip – 2, Gevgelija – 2, Gostivar – 1, Struga – 1, Radovish – 1, Bogdanci – 1 and Kratovo – 1. One patient died, from Ohrid, aged 82. According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, two persons died in period April 27-29. At the moment, 578 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,030,368 tests, recording 310,298 COVID-19 cases and 300,433 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,287.
