COVID-19: 1,375 new cases, 217 patients recover, 2 die
Skopje, 5 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 1,375 new COVID-19 infections after 7,188 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 2 deaths and 217 recoveries were reported, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 852 were registered in Skopje, followed by Bitola – 135, Prilep – 70, Kumanovo – 38, Kavadarci – 38, Ohrid – 25, Shtip – 25, Strumica – 21, Resen – 18, Tetovo – 14, Gevgelija – 14, Negotino – 13, Gostivar – 10, Veles – 10, Radovish – 10, Valandovo – 9, Probishtip – 8, Demir Hisar – 8, Krushevo – 8, Kichevo – 7, Bogdanci – 7, Delchevo – 6, Kriva Palanka – 6, Kochani – 5, Struga – 3, Vinica – 3, Makedonski Brod – 3, Sveti Nikole – 3, Debar – 2, Kratovo – 2, and Pehchevo – 2.
Two deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including one in Skopje (aged 75), and one in Kavadarci (61). Two more deaths were recorded from the My Appointment e-service.
At the moment, 6,818 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,626,464 tests, recording 228,540 COVID-19 cases and 213,722 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,000.
