COVID-19: 1,210 new cases, 32 patients die
Skopje, 24 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Tuesday registered 1,210 new infections and 32 fatalities after a total of 7,084 COVID-19 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Out of the confirmed cases, 464 were registered in Skopje, the Health Ministry said in a press release, citing Public Health Institute data. Of the 32 fatalities, Skopje registered eight deaths, Gostivar – 6, Tetovo – 6, Kumanovo – 3 and Kichevo – 2. Shtip, Kochani, Berovo, Ohrid, Valandovo, Struga and Delchevo reported one death each, said the press release. Fatalities were aged 32-79. In the past 24 hours, 451 people were registered as having recovered from the virus. At the moment, 11,769 cases are active nationwide, of which 4,150 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has recorded 170,412 COVID-19 cases and 152,916 recoveries. The death toll has reached 5,727. A total of 1,118,535 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
