Skopje, 12 August 2022 (MIA) - A Skopje judge has approved the proposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office involving the doctor Zhan Mitrev's case to seize his passport as he is considered a flight risk, the Skopje Criminal Court confirmed to MIA. The Skopje Prosecution Office said it ordered an investigation into a person suspected of fraud. "The suspect from April 2020 until 2022, by presenting false facts misled patients treated for COVID-19 with the hemofiltration method for monetary benefit of his private health clinic," it said in a press release. Earlier, the Skopje Prosecution Office told MIA that doctor Zhan Mitrev was summoned for questioning. Prosecutors on July 18 opened an investigation after IRL’s investigative journalists released a documentary about the work of Zhan Mitrev Hospital and the doctor Zhan Mitrev himself.
