Court rejects detention request for Janakieski over 'April 27' case
Skopje, 22 November 2021 (MIA) – The Skopje-based Criminal Court has rejected as unfounded a request of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption to order detention for defendant Mile Janakieski in relation to 'April 27' events case. According to the Court’s Council, the request didn’t contain sufficient arguments to support imposing stricter measures. The Appellate Court on Thursday lifted a house arrest measure for defendant Janakieski in relation to several court cases, replacing it with precautionary measure. Following this, the Criminal Court says, the Prosecutor on Monday filed a detention request in relation to the 'April 27' case. Janakieski is indicted in several cases including 'TNT', 'Titanic', 'Talir', 'Toplik', 'Trajectory' and 'Spanish Steps'.
