Skopje, 5 December 2023 (MIA) - The Skopje-based Criminal Court has ordered a 30-day detention for fugitive Ljupcho Palevski-Palcho, primary suspect in the murder of 14-year-old Vanja Gjorchevska and 74-year-old Panche Zhezhovski. The detention will be effective once he is found and arrested.

On Monday, the Ministry of Interior issued an international arrest warrant for Palevski, charging him with kidnapping and murder.

"Ljupcho Palevski, born on December 12, 1964, in Skopje, is wanted on an international warrant for the investigation of the crimes of kidnapping and murder according to the XV KO No. 3047/23 order issued by the Primary Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje," the Ministry of Interior announced on its website.

The Criminal Court has also ordered a 48-hour detention for Vanja Gjorchevska's father, Aleksandar Gjorchevski, who is one of the suspects in her murder. According to the court, the detention order is to prevent the suspect from fleeing to avoid criminal proceedings and to prevent him from influencing key witnesses.
